Mr Arshad Barmare is a Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon working public as well private hospitals in Melbourne. His Orthopaedic practice specializes in Joint replacement, Sports injuries and trauma. His interest include Arthroscopic reconstructive surgery of all major joints condition including Hip labral tear, Shoulder dislocations and Rotator cuff tears, Ankle ligament tears.

Mr Arshad Barmare utilizes his internationally rich medical experience to provide patients with the most comprehensive and evidence based orthopaedic care possible. His goal is to achieve the highest quality of life with the least risk to his patients. His is a firm believer in exhausting all possible options of treatment for his patients including non-operative management of common orthopaedic presentation. He along with his team comprising of exercise physiologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist strive to provide specialist pain management for arthritic joint as well as other common orthopaedic conditions like Osteoarthritis of Hips and Knees, Frozen Shoulder, Shoulder impingement, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.


Past Education

Mr Arshad Barmare obtained his basic medical training in India. He was awarded the title of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) by the National Board of Examination in India in 1997. He did his Advanced Orthopaedic training in Singapore as well as Australia. He obtained his Orthopaedic Masters degree (MMed) from the National University of Singapore in 2005 and his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS-Ortho) in 2010. He was elected as a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association ( FAorthA) in 2014 and is also a Certified Independent Medical Examiner (CIME) by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABMIE).

Orthopaedic Involvement

Mr Arshad Barmare is an active member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the International Surgical Outcomes Study (ISOS) as well as International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). Mr Arshad Barmare has also been selected by the International Association of HealthCare Professionals (IAHCP) to be featured in the premier publication of The Leading Physicians of the World.

Community Administrative & Teaching Involvement

Mr Arshad Barmare has a passion for teaching and has been involved in educating medical students, orthopaedics residents, registrars as well as other medical personnel during his work both internationally as well as in Australia. He has various teaching roles with Melbourne University, and is the Orthopaedic Clinical Lead for Notre Dame University, Melbourne. Mr Arshad Barmare has also had many administrative roles including Clinical Director of Orthopaedics at Goulburn Valley Health and Deputy Director of Orthopaedics at The Alfred Health. Mr Barmare has worked in multiple countries across the world including Singapore and India as well as rural, regional and metropolitan areas across Australia. Through working in these various locations, he understands that each and every patient is different and each problem they present with has its own complexities. Hence he is passionate about providing tailored care for his patients.

Current Practice Locations

Currently Mr Barmare is practicing at a range of locations across Victoria. At present, he is developing the Orthopaedic Department at the Werribee Mercy Hospital. He also consults at John Fawkner Private Hospital, Northpark Private Hospital, St Vincent's Private Hospital Werribee as well as Epping Private Hospital. Mr Arshad Barmare also practices at regional locations including Shepparton.
